#2 of Three's a Charm

Hi Everyone! Took a little break and went away for the weekend. Visiting family in Northport, New York (aka Long Island). Northport is one of my favorite places on earth. Wish I could buy a little summer place there and spend more time. The kids went fishing, we spent time walking on sand bars in the Sound, shopping at the green market, lazing around the pool, cooking and eating amazing food and laughing hard with good friends (who also happen to be our cousins). It was just what we all needed after last month. A 'real' vacation.

Back today with the 2nd project I made for Pebbles, Inc. last week. After I made this page I realized I'm not a fan of big photos, that is, unless they are really huge. I just prefer to work small. Maybe that is the cardmaker in me. Anywho, here's my page:

Another clean and simple page with a photo that's been in the photo basket for at least 6 years. One of my faves, though, and I've scrapped it before. I layered so more letter stickers for this project and trimmed out the banner from a Sunnyside paper. I mixed them with some Fresh Goods. Back with one more Pebbles, Inc. DT project next week.

I decided over the weekend to drop the 3D drafting class I was scheduled to take this Fall since the timing interfered majorly with my work schedule. I also decided that I needed to maintain my 'active student' status - it would be too easy to fall out of the school routine - so I searched for something to take in an evening that might be interesting. That led me to the graphic design department and a big light bulb went on in my head. I've always been interested in graphic design - especially now being involved in this hobby - so why not? Design is design, in my opinion. The principles of good design are common to all fields, so it can't hurt, right? And just like that I'm registered for Typography 101 - I'm so excited and wondering where this will lead. Could be good!

Now it's back to the major purge going on in my scrap space. Big garage sale coming and I want to be ready to move it all out!

If anyone deserved a get-away it was you and your family, Val! Im glad you had some time to relax. This layout is wonderful - love the little bit of blue and that little banner extended from the j-spot is fabulous. Cant wait to hear all about what you're going to learn in your new class!
