Happy July!
As usual, the summer is whizzing by. It's been really hot here in the northeast but I kind of like it. The 4th is around the corner and little mini vacation road trip is on tap for us. I picked up one of those small Smash books yesterday in hopes that I will 'scrap on the road'. We'll see how that goes. I plan to take it to Chicago too, for CHA.
So to kick of July at The Studio we've got a color challenge, selected by Jules. The colors, which you can see on the blog, are very muted. While I like muted colors I'm not a big user of them on my projects. I tend to go more bright, and graphic, so this was a challenge. Luckily there was some black mixed in there for some contrast. The photo I used on my page was taken when I went for a sail in the San Francisco Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge (which was really fun, btw!) It was so bright that day everything seemed washed out - the colors for this challenge reminded me of how things looked out there on the water:
Here's my journaling tucked into the glassine envelope layered under the photo. Also under the photo is half of a Heidi Swapp folder. The envelope is stamped in black Staz-On with a stamp from Elle's Studio.
Speaking of Elle's Studio - they are sponsoring our challenges this month!
Just upload your page at The Studio in the sidebar and be entered to win the prize. Also, check out how our design team interpreted this color palette. So cool to see all the different takes.
Also - did you see there is a design team call up at The Studio? I have had 2 happy years on this team and can tell you it's been a great experience. A great, drama-free group of ladies - so send in your application!
Hope you have a great day. I plan to make cards and lay in the sun today. In that order. How about you?
