Whew, it's hot here! We spent the last 2 days in PA at an amusement park and it was really hot there too. I think I must have drank 10 gallons of water yesterday. But here, in NJ - wow. It's supposed to be over 100 today. That's even too hot to swim but I will try. It's also too hot to work in my scrap space, which is in the highest, hottest part of our house. Even the AC won't be able to keep up with that. Hope my supplies don't melt! Might have to move operations down to the dining room table, like in the good old days!
Today I've got a page to share for the Simple Scrapper challenge for July: to use red, white and blue on a non-4th of July page. Armed with this color scheme prompt and a great sketch from Simple Scrapper, this page came together very quickly. Made with a mix of Pebbles, Inc. Let Freedom Ring collection, SRM & Elle's Studio - here's my page:
materials: patterned paper, candy dots: Pebbles, Inc.; title sticker: SRM; journaling tags: Elle's Studio
**Sketch template from Simple Scrapper's Premium Membership.
That chevron border is the little strip at the edge of the patterned paper that usually gets cut off. I liked it so much I kept it on and used it to make the base of my 8 1/2 x 11 page. I also stitched along the lines of the banner pattern to add some subtle texture to the background. Also on the page is the tag from the flip flops which has been floating around my craft space for a couple of years now. (these are not new flip flops ;)
For my title I used an SRM sticker along with a piece of a tag from Elle's Studio. I made the little flowers by cutting one from a spare photo of the flip flops, then tracing it onto white cardstock. I like how imprecise they are. The navy centers are Pebbles, Inc. Candy Dots.
Here's how to play along: Scrapbook a new page, digital or paper, based on the challenge instructions. Upload the layout to your blog or gallery then link it up at the widget right here by 11.59 p.m. CDT on July 25, 2012. One winner will be selected at random to win a $15 print credit to Persnickety Prings. Good luck - can't wait to see your pages!!
I am so enjoying my little vacation and hope you have a great weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with a few Valentine's I made for a recent project call. Sadly, it's not their time to go 'to the show' but I can share them here.
