Sunday at The Studio

Chevrons - it's all about chevrons at The Studio Challenges this week. Graphic and handy for adding movement to a project, our challenge was to create a page that included the trendy element. Here is my project. It's a simple 8 1/2 x 11 page made mostly with my Studio Calico Daydream Believer kit. I used the chevron paper sideways (like arrows) to lead the eye across the photos. I even used one of the creepy butterflies from the kit that I swore I would give away:

I threw in a Studio Calico border sticker (the circles) and a little SRM. The flurry of die cutting on the blogs I read has had me jonesing to use the Silhouette. I dusted it off and used it to cut my B's (that font is called Lollipop and it's a Silhouette Store download - one of my fave scripts.)

The page is about my daughter who dances several hours a week, then plays basketball on the weekend. I knew I had to make a page about the juxtaposition of these two activities - hence the basketball accent. It's an SRM sticker, as is the definition sticker you can see a piece of here. I put that sticker under a clear page pebble and used it as the center of the creepy butterfly. (Note: No offense to the maker of the butterflies. I don't like bugs - especially winged things - and these were particularly realistic. I do like the dimension they add to that corner, however - and as far as butterflies go - they are nicely executed.)
