Wrote a little blog post for Ella Publishing on my new favorite tool: my die cutter. You know how I've been feeling the Big Shot love these last few months...well, I decided to put it in writing. I only scratched the surface of what this versatile tool can do. Here are the projects I made:
For this layout I used nearly every embossing folder I had to emboss the grey cardstock, then I used some nesting circle dies to cut different sized circles. Makes a cool textural background, no? Definitely want to try this on a card:
Images Removed for PublicationHere's a mini album cover. I embossed some Stampin' Up wood veneer. Love that you can emboss really thick stuff with that machine:
materials: wood veneer: Stampin' Up; letters: Pink Paislee; pin: October Afternoon; butterfly: Making Memories; twine: Divine Twine; embossing folder: Lifestyle Crafts
Here's one more fall page I didn't use in the post. This one used the negative cuts leftover from a large circle border I have:
materials: patterned paper: Making Memories, Studio Calico, Sasafrass Lass; letters: American Crafts; envelope: Making Memories; stickers: Sasafrass Lass, 7 Gypsies; ticket, tape: Pink Paislee; die: Lifestyle Crafts
So a week from today I'll be in Chicago for CHA. Never been to a CHA before but have always wanted to check it out. I was hoping to go to the big winter show but I hear this one is a little more manageable. Besides the fact it's only 2 hours away by plane, as opposed to 8 to the west coast. I don't feel as guilty going to Chicago for some reason. And speaking of Chicago, I really miss that place! I used to travel there twice a year for a previous job - I haven't been there since 1996. Can't wait to see it again and plan to take at least one afternoon to head into the city, see the sights and eat some pizza!
Thanks for stopping by today!
