I was so excited (and terrified) to be included in Jenni's "8 Is Enough" challenge at Ella Publishing. The challenge: stretch only 8 products to make as many pages as possible.
I'm so bad at working with limits when it comes to this hobby. But I have to say, this was one of the most liberating experiences ever. I could have made 5 more layouts with this set of 8 products:
I made 3 pages for this challenge (and will continue to make even more - as they are giving my Disney album an awesome sense of continuity - a huge side bonus to supply stretching!) Here's are some detail shots of the 2 layouts that are on the Ella blog.
and here's layout number 3:
My simple stretching tactics: select patterns with similar color intensity, use only small amounts of said patterns, cut the paper embellishments apart, use letter stamps, and use the waste where you can. (for instance - the waste from the punched circles on the Dumbo page re-appears on the page above in between the 2 photos - can you see it?)
To read the whole article, see the rest of my layouts and list of supplies, stop by the Ella Publishing blog. Jenni, Keshet & Diana all did an amazing job with this challenge. There's also a chance to win a copy of "8 Is Enough"- so check it out!

Great layout, the challenge sounds like fun! I am off to check out your other amazing layouts!
hi Valerie! Love your Disney lo and congrats on the cool gig at 8 is Enough! (That blog title so reminds me of the old t.v. show - but wait, I'm dating myself, aren't I?) :) I'm off to check you out there!
I totally need to try this out. Like you, I don't do limits! This could be good for me!
Gorgeous work!!! I love the 8 product challenge!
love what you did with the calendar page... i need to stock up on those. they are just so cool.
I am loving what I am seeing with this challenge! I really like how you used stitching on the last one to make it feel finished. Perhaps this challenge would make me use some more tools, too.
Love both htese layouts, Val! What a fun challenge to participate in! All of your tips are spot on and your Disney album is looking fab!
