It's the return of the metallic silver cardstock and thread - it must be the holidays!! When I saw that this week's twist at Twisted Sketches was 'shine' - I knew it signaled the return of my old metallic pals! The twist also gave me an opportunity to use some old American Crafts Thickers accents. To check out Anam's sketch for this week and the fabulous work of the design team, click here. Hope you'll play along!
It's hard to see but these 2 papers by House of 3 (which also happen to be my new favorite papers) are spot varnished. Besides being pretty and shiny, it helped me reinforce the twist for the sketch challenge. As usual, I had to make a couple of back up cards. You can actually see the varnish on this one:
This one (used Websters Pages here) went a little 'swiss cheese' on me - not exactly what I had envisioned. I was trying to show more of the metallic base:
So link up your cards here - would love to see your take on this sketch!
I noticed I never posted a deadline for the Ella giveaway on this blog post. Since I'm going to be away for a few days, I'll draw this winner tonight at 8 p.m. EST - so you still have time to enter to win a copy of Double Page Design, the newest Ella Publishing release. Also, have you checked out the 12 Days of Christmas posts on the Ella blog? Tons of amazing giveaways and cool projects every day for the next 12 days. I think I'm up on the 15th - I'll be happy to post a reminder ;)
I also noticed from the comments on the giveaway post that lots of you like the Girls Paperie Tinsel & Twig. I think I need to look into this line asap - before it's all gone!!
