Rainy Monday

Hope you all had a good weekend and got your craft on for WCMD! I wanted to do so many challenges but was involved with finishing up another project. I did make a couple of cards for that project, though, and here is one of them:
I used a Crafter's Workshop template with some Glimmer Mist for the branches and punched the flowers with a Martha Stewart punch. I also used an SRM sticker for the sentiment and some Tiara Stickles.

It's raining here again. I love rain on Mondays, especially in the Fall. I've got some crafty plans for today - as I think it will actually be just me, alone in the house. I thought these times would be abundant once my kids both started school full time but they have been few and far between. Something always seems to come up.

Today I'm going to work on a few card sketch challenges and a page call for Quick & Easy. I've also got Scrapper's Cove material to finish up. This month has been very challenging for me as I'm working totally out of my style and comfort zone with this:
This is not subject matter I am comfortable with, at all. And while I use stamps, and consider myself a decent stamper, I have not yet mastered Copics - which will be an absolute necessity for this stamp. I grabbed a handful while I was at the store picking up this month's DT product, and they sure are pretty (I forsee a new addiction here)- but now what? I remember using graphic design markers in college to do interior renderings and failing miserably. I really need to take a class - yesterday!

This weekend I received an excellent delivery via Royal Mail (how fancy/Jane Austen does that sound?!): my order from the Scrap Rat shop. Check out these fun vintage finds:
Here's a close up of what's in the matchboxes...little typed words!
I LOVE them!! My friend Amanda makes these by hand with her vintage typewriter, on vintage paper, then cuts them by hand. And look at that packaging - those little vintage matchboxes. Perfection!! I'm going to make something with these goodies today.

I was completely thrilled to see this on the Paper Crafts Connection blog on Friday. Karen tipped me off then I saw it on my Facebook feed. What an honor. What a great end to an already awesome week.
Feeling very lucky today :)

I still haven't dived into the Copic trend. I LOVE the look, but I'm afraid I won't have the skills!
And what a fun package - love those typed strips.
I just looked at that Crafter's Workshop template yesterday but after seeing your beautiful card, I may just have to go back and buy it!

I really love the card, and those vintage goodies are divine :) I don't know how to use Copics, so I've always admired people who can blend the colors so well!
