Crafter's Workshop Review

I had planned today to post my first week of  Picture Fall photos, but then realized #7 isn't ready yet. So I've made the executive decision to move the Picture Fall posts to Friday/tomorrow.

Instead, I thought I'd share a couple of the projects I made for a Scrap That! review I did on Crafter's Workshop templates. They sent such a great selection to work with - and I really had fun. So here's project number one - one of my all-time favorite photos of my girl.
here's a detail:
For this layout, I used the Gathered Flowers template to spray mist one page (that's Mister Huey in Sunshine, btw) then flipped the template to 'stamp' the reverse with the overspray ink. It's hard to see but it added this cool traced effect because I had traced the image onto paper (before I started this project) with a marker. The maker residue, which I did not clean off, got transferred, too. It's very subtle - an unexpected bonus.  The paper & embellishments are Cosmo Cricket (Pixilicious) with a Sassafras Lass number card and some Basic Grey letters.
Here's a card I made with one of the 6 x 6 templates (Mini Dotted Scallop) - these definitely work better with more direct application of color, in this case, a Ranger ink applicator and some Broken China Distress Ink.
This one also lent itself to paper piercing. With the exception of the white Stampin' Up cardstock, all the product here came from my Partly Sunny Studio Calico kit. (American Crafts, Jillibean Soup).

Thanks to the Crafter's Worshop for sending us their awesome templates and for saying this on their blog. What an unexpected surprise! You can see the full review here. Also check out Amanda's Scrap Rat Shop - they are having a guest designer call. Her products are so much fun (I shared some photos the other day) and if you love to use vintage findings on your projects, this call is for you!!

Went a little crazy yesterday at the Scrapper's Cove so I've got a nice pile of new toys on my desk waiting for me. Plus I've got the little boy home with a messy cold (which he has graciously shared with me) so hopefully, some craftiness will happen here today.
Have a great day all - thanks for stopping by!
