These are old Easter pictures from 2008. (I think I was chanelling my inner Jackie O with those goofy giant sunglasses - my kids will be laughing at this in 2025! lol) Anyway...I don't know about this layout. This is the second time I've tried to use that blue Sassafrass on a background and just not sure. It is one of my all time favorite papers ever but it is a tad intense. I am loving those flowers, though. I pulled them out of the brand new Studio Calico kit. Also Sassafras - they are so fun! Here's a close up:
The paper on the flowers has a really nice texture. Just got another sketch in the inbox so I better get crackin' on this project!
I'm very into outlining stuff these days. So much so that I've been buying various markers to see which ones I like best. I'm very particular about the kinds of pens I use. So far, I've found the Close To My Heart markers to be my faves. I've had them in my stash since 2007 and I'm just now using them. The fact that they still have not dried up speaks to their quality. The point is just the perfect size, too. Need to order up some fresh ones. (I outlined my Studio Calico starburst stamp above with the CTMH black marker.)
Here I am getting punny. Never a good idea for me...
Oh, and one more thing...the very sweet Anna - my new DT pal over at the Studio bestowed upon me my very first blog award:
I'm so proud! Now I need to list 5 things I am loving right now...here we go, in no particular order (and let me say that my husband, family, health, friends...always top this list - they are 'above the list')
1)Tassimo Gevalia French Vanilla coffee disks
2) Ralph's chocolate water ice
3) Nikon D80 with 50mm lens
4) My MomAgenda calendar (I've got a thing for calendars)
5) my new watercolor set
Thanks Anna - I will be sure to spread the sunshine in my next post! BTW - Anna's got a brand new shop, The Make & Create Shop, where she sells handmade embellishment kits. They are adorable!
Ok, now I need to finish up a project for The Studio (I've got the Wednesday extra next week!) and dig out my rolling crate and start packing it for Saturday for Julie's class. Ugh. I hate that ugly crate. And I'm not a fan of those giant XXL rolling crop bags either. I guess I just really don't want to roll supplies down the streets of the West Village, as I will feel like a total dork. But I don't know another way. My luck I'll have to park several blocks away and have to carry my really heavy bag. Hmm, there must be a more stylish way...must figure this out asap...
