On a Rainy Monday

I feel so guilty about staying in and working at my desk on sunny beautiful days that I find myself wishing for rain every now and then. Today, the rain gods have given me my wish. I love when it rains on Monday - especially if I don't really need to go anywhere.

How bout a quick recap of the birthday weekend? It was pretty low key.
For my birthday, I got a little point and shoot camera. I was in desperate need of one of these. Lugging the D80 can be a hassle. I'm always afraid it will be lost or stolen. Anywho, my little Cybershot came sans-case so I thought - why not make one? So I did:

I stamped the inner canvas with a little camera stamp. Then I used a cool upholstery sample (being an interior designer has it's perks) for the exterior of the case. I wanted it to be a simple 'in & out' case, since I'm guilty of not using a case at all. This irks my husband who cringes when he sees the scratches and dings on my electronic devices. So, I think I achieved the goal. (I've got tons of these fabric samples, I have  feeling lots of people will be getting camera cases for Christmas :)

After I whipped up this little guy, I needed to make a trip to the Scrapper's Cove to pick up my monthly DT material. So, why not bring along the birthday money that is burning a hole in my pocket? Well, the Cove was loaded, LOADED, with new CHA goods. I went a little crazy but it sure was fun. Here are some notable scores:

some Tattered Angels Chalkboard mist - oh, I love this stuff!! (got the peacock & chalk):
these awesome Tim Holtz stamps that look just like the Halloween decorations of my youth. Love this kind of Halloween imagery:
this excellent stencil from Crafter's Workshop. These things are so handy. I've got big plans for this guy:
and lastly, I finally broke down and got one of these,
they come in pink now:
I'm happy to report the ATG it is as good as everyone says it is.
Adios annoying tape runners!
I'm a little nervous about going to do my DT drop off on Tuesday, as more new product will have arrived at the Scrapper's Cove by then.

So that's me today. Have a few ideas for some projects that I need to work on, and I also need to write my Ella guest blog post, as the deadline is rapidly approaching. Then there's that whole 'back to school' thing I need to start thinking about :(
Hope you have a great week!

Lots of fun stuff! Does the ATG feel awkward or bulky to hold?

I do exactly the same thing sometimes- in fact, on Saturday when I *had* to stay inside and edit photos most of the day, I was totally wishing it would rain instead of being so gorgeous!

Happy late birthday, and congrats on the ATG!! I love mine to death.

I've been wishing for rain for the SAME reason!! It must be a scrapper thing! LOL! Looks like you made out GREAT for your birthday! Your ability to whip up the camera case amazes me! I'm capable of sewing a few buttons but that's it for me. I'm annoyed at myself...I had the pink ATG in my hand at Michael's but I talked myself out of it. DUH! Enjoy your goodies!

Looks like you had fun shopping. That peacock is the TA chalk mist I have been coveting. And I love your idea for a camera bag for the POS!
