I love Marimekko designs. As soon as I saw this, I was instantly reminded of an Imaginisce paper that I just purchased. I rarely buy black & white papers, but for some reason, I picked up this one. (Grace from the Love & Cherish line). It was the perfect background for this card. I made 2 cards - here's #1:
I'm not used to working with colors or patterns like this so I was totally and completely out of my comfort zone. On my first attempt I stuck with what I knew, sort of . First I stamped the flower image on patterned paper scraps in colors similar to the trigger. Then, following the stamped lines, I stitched them down to the patterned background. Then I added some Ranger Enamel Accents (they're back) to highlight some of the dots on the pattern. (That enamel makes the nicest, shiniest dots.)
Here's #2:
I colored. I love coloring! I think I stayed in the lines pretty good, too.
I am planning to take a Copic class this month but in the meantime, I am not a user or a fan of coloring with markers. Mostly because I am not good at it. At all! In college, art professors tried to teach me to use them to make elaborate interior renderings. I was a disaster with those things. Anyway...in the spirit of my upcoming class, I thought I'd give it a go with my pathetic collection of markers, which happen to include the red and blue I needed for this card. Whew!
