Just for fun. I wanted to do the Studio Calico sketch challenge this week because it was simple and clean and I had a single photo I was wanting to scrap. So, I'll save the promised rejected passed over layouts for next week (when I'm 100% certain they are officially out of the running.)
Here's the sketch by Laura Kurz - whose work I have admired for many years:
& here's my layout:
I'm squeezing out the last of my Joyland kit for this page and adding in a few extras. Not loving the mist. I love the way it looks when other people use it, but for me, I just can't seem to get it right. The lined paper is American Crafts, the polka dot is MME and how about that awesome Tim Holtz tissue tape? Just scored that at Scrapper's Cove. My love for paper tape is official. Time to his that site with all the washi tapes.
Now, it's time to clean up and get ready for the local church fair. Tonight is the last night and I've promised my kids we are going for sure. If I don't take them, I don't think they will let me live through the night. One good thing about fairs like this, though, is they are great for people watching and picture taking. I plan to do both.
