for Father's Day

one last card for Father's Day for Paige's weekly Cards Blog challenge, and also #3 of 3 I made for the Gallery Idol competition:
Went back to the screen material again. (I really liked that stuff!) and the drywall tape. I used chipboard letters to 'trace' the shapes onto the screen. I tried to trace them with a pen onto the screen but that didn't work out. I had to hold the letters securely against the screen as I cut them out by hand. Good thing the word dad is only 3 letters. That "a" was a little tricky. In the background is some sanded Core'dinations woodgrain cardstock. Isn't that stuff awesome? The floor plan paper and the word "best" are Studio Calico.

So, I've reached the end of the line in Gallery Idol 2010 and I'm not really surprised. I'm actually a little relieved. There was some stiff competition in that group. I am so happy I had the chance to work alongside some amazing, creative women and make it to the Top 15. It was a great experience and I got to know some really nice people. I'll be back...for next year's Gallery Idol.
In the blog world....probably be back tomorrow - Thanks for your support everyone!

So sorry to see that you are out of the race. You had my vote. I loved what you did with the screen!

Holy cats, I thought you were going to mention you tried cutting that with a Cricut or something and wondered how it would ever survive! Handcutting probably isn't much better though. Congratulations on making it to the top 15 a very well deserved feat and I am looking foward to what you will be creating next year for it-as well as all the goodies here on your blog.

Oh, I totally forgot about dry wall tape. I use to use it often, along with it's long lost scrapbook cousin, Magic Mesh! Going to have to see if I still have some in my stash!
